Surf Witch is a genre bending band that explores influences from indie rock, prog, and folk music. Story-telling lyrics, alternative tunings, and built up psychedelic moments, are only some phrases that describe Surf Witch's live music. Founded by Megan Cahill, she draws on influences from Covet, Diane Cluck, and Big Thief into her songwriting. The past two years as a band have been fruitful and expanding. Getting their start in Orlando in 2022, they worked their way through the Florida music scene, playing at venues like Kona Skatepark in Jacksonville, FL; The Sandbox in Miami Beach; and Wills Pub in Orlando, FL. After a year of downtime, Surf Witch up and moved to New York City in June 2024, released a new single, and had its first debut show at the Cobra Club in Brooklyn in Sept. 2024. Since then we have also taken the stage at Piano’s and Human Tradition in the LES, Radio Bean in Burlington, Vermont & hosted a six week long residency at Oak & Iron in Greenpoint in winter of 2025.
